In 1947, according to Senator Claude Pepper, a US president should not be constrained by term-limits.
Pepper said: “I think our people are to be safely trusted with their own destiny. We do not need to protect the American people with a prohibition against a president whom they do not wish to elect; and if they wanted to elect him, have we the right to deny them the power?”
Applied to our current president, some have suggested that a war with Iran would be a step in the 3rd term as president realm.
Senator Orrin Hatch wrote two years ago that term limits are ludicrous because a more seasoned Congressman is “experienced in the legislative process [and] can ensure that a particular state’s interests are being served.”
Back in the beginning of this year, House Representative Jose Serrano introduced HJ Res 15 last week which is a proposal to repeal the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution.
The proposal came back; however it appears he no more wants Obama to extend his presidency than he wanted all the presidents before Obama to have a longer term.
The proposing and hopeful passage of HJ Res 15 is to install another aspect of social communism in America. Serrano is hoping to capitalize on the fear spreading throughout the population and get a bill passed that would transform our Constitutional Republic into a Communist dictatorship.
Serrano has a been involved in socialist organizations such as the Majority Coalition for a new New York which is a labor/community coalition that claims to have “the interests of working people at heart” while promoting socialist ideology.
In 2006, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) Political Action Committee supported and endorsed Serrano for Congressional elections. Once in office, Serrano co-sponsored HR 950, the Job Creation and Infrastructure Restoration Act of 1997.
This communist inspired legislation brought together federal jobs with worker unions to ensure equality of pay while funding other socialist programs such as public schools, libraries and public transportation with $250 billion in taxpayer money.
Obama has spoken at events for the DSA as a candidate for senator in 1996. The DSA Democratic works in tandem with the Communist Party USA, the Green Party USA, as well as having ties to ACORN.
Serrano has been an active supporter of Castro by seeking to end the embargo against Cuba by claiming the action hurts American businesses and farmers.
The source of these questions is being attributed to a man named Porter Stansberry.
Stansberry appeared in 2012 on various media outlets to discuss his prediction that President Obama would circumvent the US Constitution, Amendment 22, and declare a third term as president of the US.
Stansberry said that “there is something going on in the oil business and presidential politics.” He states that he believes it is not unreasonable to perceive that Obama and the Democrats would “find a way to repeal the 2nd Amendment.” Yet, back tracking his statement, so that if his prediction is not accurate, Stansberry goes on to say: “Even if he doesn’t do that, that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t have a third term. He could have a proxy.”
Stansberry suggests that Attorney General Eric Holder could be placed into the presidency so that Obama could “run the show” behind the scenes.
Stansberry is the founder of Stansberry & Associates Investment Research (SAIR), subsidiary of Agora Inc., as well as the host of Stansberry Radio. SAIR publishes investment research to subscribers in more than 100 countries.
In 2003, Stansberry was sued by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for “scheme to defraud public investors by disseminating false information in several Internet newsletters.” According to the SEC, Stansberry predicted in a newsletter sent to subscribers that a “new pricing agreement between USEC and a Russian counterpart would be approved at the summit meeting on May 22, 2002”; however Stansberry completely fabricated this information.
Steven Wingfield, the director of investments for SAIR, was named by Stansberry as the originator of the information. Wingfield claimed that there was a meeting between former President George W. Bush and then Russian President Vladimir Putin, yet Wingfeild told the SEC that he did not give Stansberry information that was translated into the newsletter which defraud many of Stansberry’s subscribers out of money.
The “special report” sent out by “Jay McDaniel, a.k.a. Stansberry, asserted that client investors “could double their money if they paid $1,000 for a stock tip involving Bethesda energy company USEC Inc.” After the scam was revealed, only 215 of the clients received monetary compensation after vigilant complaints to SAIR.
In an attempt to downplay his actions, Stansberry said that his information was “more premature than inaccurate”. In the end, the meeting never took place, stock prices were not affected as Stansberry predicted.
Stansberry’s clients lost money as a result.
Stansberry’s attorney stated that the financial losses attributed to those who took Stansberry’s advice were not “significant”.
Regardless of his dismissal of his action, Stansberry was ordered by the US District Court in Maryland to repay $1.5 million in restitution and civil penalties.
US District Judge Marvin J. Garbis stated in his 49 page ruling: “Stansberry’s conduct undoubtedly involved deliberate fraud, making statements [about a stock] that he knew to be false; Pirate acted in reckless disregard for regulations when it published Stansberry’s unbelievable claims without a shred of confirmation. The violation plainly involved the risk of substantial loss to those who bought the Special Report and relied upon Stansberry’s false statements in their stock purchase decisions.”
In 2009, on appeals, the ruling by Garbis was upheld with the comment that “it would take an act of willful blindness to ignore the fact that [Stansberry] profited from the false statements.”
This case sent shockwaves throughout the industry, declaring the message that financial advisors who knowingly give their clients bad information could be sued for that action.
Other schemes of Stansberry’s are the 2003 marketing manipulation to have investors hand over money to VaxGen, a supposed AIDS vaccine. A representative for Vaxgen stated that Stanberry’s tactics were “very objectionable.”
Stansberry claims in another email solicitation that Obama is secretly planning to circumvent the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution and demand 3rd term as US president.
In the online message, Stansberry states: “There’s a secret to understanding how we know Obama will seek a third term. There’s a secret to how he’ll garner the power to win, yet again… and keep power through 2020 – or even beyond.”
Stansberry is attempting to use the fear brewing in the minds of Americans as to the obviously socialist/communist direction Obama is taking the nation. As a professional scammer, he has employed Jones to assist him in legitimizing his cause. And combined with the reemergence of Serrano’s resolution to extend Obama’s presidency for a 3rd term, the temperament is right for such a manipulation.
